DRILLING RIG SOLUTION

The Remote Drillsite Broadcast System (RDBS™)

Michael Dwinnell, Founder of DBC, conceived the Remote Drillsite Broadcast System (RDBS™) in 1999 and with a IT team led by Mr. David Kocurek and Mr. Mike Self, the first broadcast was completed in the early days of the new millennium. Today the RDBS™ is a patent pending, proprietary design of software and hardware components that employs the use of satellite communications technology.

Unmanned The RDBS™ has a small footprint when deployed on a drilling location, and outside of the satellite antenna, commonly referred to as a "dish", is self contained in a mobile unit.

The antenna systems are auto-aim and self deploying 1.2 meter dishes used for rapid deployment, or relatively simple fixed dishes set up in non-disruptive locations. Regardless of which dish type is used, the RDBS™ is also equipped with a transmitter or "radio." Radios may range in size from a one watt transmitter to 20 or more watts depending upon the application. The transmission equipment and satellite antenna are commonly called Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT).

Designed and constructed for extreme weather environments, the RDBS™ is a workhorse in the field, continuously delivering video and data for mission critical operations.
